About Us

Legendary cycle-specialists Locks of Sandwich in now under new management.

Previous owners Arthur and Eileen Lock handed over the keys over to Andy Croucher in August 2010 and Andy now continues with the well-known ‘Locks of Sandwich’ name. Their cycle shop has become a Sandwich landmark since it opened its doors back in 1977 and has a fantastic reputation for being one of the most traditional bike shops in kent.

Locks of Sandwich Cycles sells a very wide range of bikes and spares, as well as tandems. They also stock Kiddimoto balancer bikes and also have many bikes available for hire – perfect for holiday makers and locals to discover the town and its surroundings.

Andy has over 25 years experience in the cycle and motorcycle trade and is looking forward to carrying on the Locks tradition. He says, “I plan to update the shop and bring in some new ideas, yet still keep the friendly, family atmosphere that previous owners, Arthur and Eileen Lock, worked so hard to create. It’s a dream come true and I’m looking forward to providing a fast and friendly service to my customers for many years to come.”

Now that Arthur and Eileen have hung up their cycle clips, they’re sailing off into that delicious, yet unknown paradise called ‘retirement’ although Arthur still plans to work the odd day alongside Andy.

Arthur reflects, “Sandwich is a simply gorgeous town and we’ve had lots of lovely letters from customers thanking us for our service, help…and humour! Locks of Sandwich will continue with Andy at the helm and if he has a journey as wonderful as we’ve had over the years, it will be great for Andy and Sandwich.”
